Maximise the lounge<br>and make the most of the outdoors.<\/span><\/span><\/h2><\/div><\/div><\/div>

The lounge space at the McDonald’s on Avenida Alberto Alcocer was too small. The premises had a large outdoor area open to the avenue, but with two problems: inclement weather and pollution (both noise and air) typical of one of Madrid’s busiest streets. The challenge: to convert the outdoor space into a comfortable and protected lounge for customers while occupying the minimum amount of space.<\/p>\n<\/div><\/div><\/div><\/div><\/div><\/div><\/div><\/section>

Optimise every corner<br>of the original architecture.<\/span><\/span><\/h2><\/div><\/div><\/div>

In restaurants, the comfort of customers and the efficient use of hospitality space must be combined. To achieve this, Kauma created an enclosure system with Gravital 400. Without bottom tracks, it allows access for people with reduced mobility, as well as being maintenance-free, as there’s no floor track that needs to be kept clean, which is more difficult in a restaurant setting. <\/p>\n

As the area to be protected was triangle-shaped, a unique oblique parking arrangement was devised to take advantage of the corners of the triangular angle. This minimal space requirement for the system translates into more square metres to accommodate customers. Furthermore, one of the panels is an access door to a completely outdoor children’s play area. <\/p>\n
