Seville’s most established and traditional confectioner’s, La Campana, was opening a new premises in the centre of Seville. Situated in an urban environment protected due to its proximity to Seville Cathedral, Kauma faced the challenge of multiplying the interior space by blurring visual barriers, whilst also being respectful of the architecture. The essence of a confectioner’s with nearly 140 years of history had to be brought into the 21st century. Glass was already a key feature of the premises, with large display counters to showcase the most exquisite sweets. And glass had to continue to be the leitmotif when creating a barrier-free space, one that brought the outdoor terrace into the indoor lounge and generated a space without visual obstructions.
